Arena Inos incineration of waste water sludge
Cases

Çerkezköy Organize Sanayi Bölgesi, Turkey

Çerkezköy Organize Sanayi Bölgesi, (COSB) in the north-west of Turkey, started the project for the treatment of waste water sludge in 2016, as a result of stricter legislation regarding the unlimited transport and dumping of waste water sludge in Turkey.

After comparison of different technologies and suppliers, COSB decided to entrust the project to Arena Inos bvba. The project is a turnkey project, which includes the design, engineering, construction supervision and start-up of the Waste-to-Energy plant. The project includes the processing of the slugde, including a state-of-the-art flue gas cleaning system, up to the production of steam.

Our experts determined the optimal solution for the combustion of the produced sludge, for the de-dusting, acid removal and heavy metal removal, taking into acount the local legislation of the city of Çerkezköy.

The capacity of the installation is 120 tons per day of waste water sludge. The moisture content of the waste water sludge is between 60-70%. The installation is equipped with 2 fluidized beds, a heat recovery system, overflow systems, etc. The flue gas cleaning consists of an afterburner at 850 °C, a ceramic filter and a lime injection installation. The installation is equipped with an energy recovery system (steam boiler) and produces 24tons of steam per day.
